las Galletas (translation - The Biscuits)

Introduction

Las Galletas is a small Canarian fishing village on the coast adjacent to Costa del Silencio. The town is mainly Spanish speaking but there are numerous English speaking bars and restaurants. One highlight of the town is the beach-side promenade of bars and restaurants overlooking the sea - where you can admire the many surfers, truly spectacular sunsets and nightly entertainment.

Eating and Drinking

In regards to dining out or just having a drink, Las Galletas caters for all with the sea front promenade providing Spanish, Belgian, Italian and British Cuisine, two of our favourite spots being the 'Euro' bar which sells pints, or in Spanish; 'harras' for a little over €2 euros and a pizza from €4 euros!! Also, The Pink Parrot cafe where you can enjoy a full English - or Scottish -breakfast. The Euro Bar has a theme night every night of the week, with our favourite being Gamba night - prawn night, every Tuesday when there seems to be an infinite supply of prawns or 'gambas' on the menu. To add value to the evening there is live entertainment most nights.

Activities

During the day, the bay is packed with swimmers, snorkellers enjoying the warm Atlantic ocean and also surfers and bodyboarders enjoying the great surf available at high tide. Other activities include Scuba Diving and there are football pitches, a basketball court and a childrens' playground in the centre of town nearby.
